We are situated on the borders of three counties,
Hampshire, Wiltshire and Dorset.
Set in beautiful countryside overlooking Martin Down.
Easily accessible from main routes being located between Salisbury and Fordingbridge.
Here at Cherwell Leys we had the opportunity to live our dream.
We found that alpacas are suitable to farm on small acreages and are relatively straightforward
to tend, even for the novice. In addition, alpacas have been accepted as a viable farming option to fulfil the requirements of PPS7
for planning permission to build new agricultural accommodation in the countryside.
As a working alpaca farm we are able to offer help and advice to newcomers
about these wonderful and charming creatures. We are members of the British Alpaca Society
and all our alpacas are registered with the society.
We are concentrating on breeding alpacas for finer fibre, the future of alpacas in the UK.
We were very impressed when Cherwell Leys Clemency was chosen as Champion Brown BAS Spring Show 2007, proof that our breeding program was heading in the right direction.
With additions from top Australian Stud Farms during 2006-2007 we believe that our core herd is forging ahead in quality which should result in more improved cria during
2008.
